1.1 Why would I want to sign up for Select Secure or Premium Secure?
Regardless of which plan you plan you select, if you need the added protection of having your user's passwords encrypted and all your files encrypted during transfer then you need one of the Secure Plans.

1.2 What is the difference between the Select Plan and the Premium Plan?
The Premium Plan gives you the added features of:
  1. Having a dedicated IP address which allows you to use your own domain name if you so chose.
  2. The dedicated IP also allows your site to function as a virtual dedicated server. In other words, your site functions as if you have your own dedicated server.
  3. You can assign multiple directories to multiple users. Example: Sales, Service and Accounting directories are assigned to John, Mike and Mary and Warranty is assigned to John and Mary.
  4. You can Assign individual user permissions per directory. Example: Mary is given read only permission in the Sales and Service folders and read/write permissions in the Accounting and Warranty folders.

1.3 I tried your Demo but it will only let me download. Why can't I upload?
The Demo was set up to allow downloads only to prevent people from abusing the Demo and trying to transfer their files.

A FTP Client provides the channel to transfer your files to and from your users. Our web based FTP Client provides all the software for you and your users and you can choose FTP Secure for added security.

2.2 What is an SSL Certificate?
The SSL security protocol provides data encryption, server authentication, message integrity, and optional client authentication for a TCP/IP connection. Do you have an old browser? Try downloading the latest version of Netscape or Internet Explorer. For Netscape users, did you grant all the permissions the Applet asked for? If not start it up again and grant all the permissions. For Internet Explorer (IE) users running Windows, Microsoft no longer ships Java with Windows or Internet Explorer. Please install the Java plugin, which can be downloaded at: http://java.sun.com/getjava.

Make sure the IP address or Host name you specified are entered correctly.
Make sure the port number you entered is specified correctly.
Make sure you entered your user name and password correctly.

2.16 I can connect to a remote server, but the client seems to hang?
The server you are attempting to connect to may not be fully supported by the applet. It is very rare that you would run across a server that doesn't work, please let us know. If you are behind a firewall or NAT, make sure that the passive switch id is turned on.

2.17 When I try to view a remote file, it doesn't display properly?
The FTP Client attempts to open files with it's associated program. If it doesn't open properly, the file you are trying to view doesn't have a file association. Mac and Unix systems only attempt to view text files.

2.18 I get an error message "permission denied" when trying to view, get or put a file.
You may not have permission to read, or write files in the directory you are trying to access. Contact the System Administrator for the server you are connecting to. Click on Dirinfo Button and verify file or directory permissions.

Yes, but it only works with browsers that have the latest Java Plugin (1.2 or higher) installed. We estimate the percentage of browsers using Sun's Java Plugin to be about 20% today (Aug 2003). On browsers that are not running the Java Plugin the drag and drop will not work.
